What I'm Loving This Week

Food and otherwise.

1. Sole Society "Karla" Shoes - If there's something I love even more than shoes, it's FREE shoes. Every Tuesday, Sole Society hosts a Tuesday Shoesday giveaway on Twitter (#SSTuesdayShoesday) and Facebook. A few weeks ago, I won the Twitter contest and received this beautiful pair of polka dot booties in the mail. I've told you all about Sole Society before. It's a monthly shoe club that just yesterday, got rid of membership fees so now there's no obligation to buy! It's not like the other clubs where you have to skip the month. So check out Sole Society; I can't say enough about the quality of their shoes.

2. Trader Joe's Finds - We were in Pittsburgh last weekend and I made sure that we'd have time to stop at Trader Joe's on our way home. My friend Missy, who lives in Pittsburgh, finds it hilarious that I get so excited over Trader Joe's. I guess to people who can go there everyday, it's not a big deal. We unfortunately don't have a Trader Joe's in Harrisburg and the closest stores are in Maryland, Philly or Pittsburgh. I made sure to snatch up a few essentials like Highbrow Chocolate Chip Cookies, CLIF bars and Fiberful fruit leather. I couldn't pass up the cinnamon sugar grinders (hello $1.99). But one of my favorite finds will be making an appearance in a post next week, so stay tuned for that.

3. The Hunger Games - Twilight, what? There's a new young adult phenomenon on the horizon for closet 13-year-olds like myself. The Hunger Games is a series of books based on a post apocalyptic nation that throws teenagers into a "fight to the death" arena called the Hunger Games. The first book of the series is being made into a movie that opens March 23. I was skeptical about the subject of these books, but I'm half way through the third book and I can't get enough of this series. I can't say that I'll be at a midnight showing of the movie, but I'll definitely be seeing it opening weekend. Oh, and the books and movie aren't just for girls. There's plenty of war and revolution to keep a guy's attention too (I got my boyfriend hooked too, though he denies this in public).

4. Birchbox - You can't get a lot for $10 these days, but you can get a monthly box of deluxe beauty samples delivered to your door from Birchbox! We're not talking foil wrapped 0.00001 ounce samples either. Birchbox delivers travel sized samples of products you might not otherwise think to purchase. Sounds good right? Sign up! There's currently a waiting list, but don't worry, they'll only keep you waiting a few weeks as more subscriptions open up monthly. You can also give subscriptions as gifts (great for Mother's day, birthdays or anniversaries!)
5.KRAVE Cereal - A few weeks ago, I stumbled upon this new cereal at the grocery store. I usually don't buy a lot of cereal because I'm not a cereal eater but Will can devour an entire box in one meal. I was intrigued by this KRAVE as it promised a liquid chocolate center enveloped in a puffy crisp shell. As I picked up the box, I flipped it around to look at the nutritionals thinking surely this cereal can't be healthy. Turns out the stats are similar to those of Special K, not bad, right? I snatched up a box and took it home. Fast forward three weeks and we've now been through 10 boxes of the stuff (thank God for the $1.00 off coupon on the back of each box). It comes in two flavors, chocolate and double chocolate.
